Stay of execution

Have you ever wondered why there isn't a household discount for multiple players of FFXI? I really should write in and ask sometime. Galfridus and I are on two PS2s in our house and we have to pay for two separate Content IDs in order to play at the same time. It just seems to me that if someone is trying to encourage couples or groups to play that clan discounts or something could be useful.

Speaking of finances, the discussion came up once again as to whether or not to continue playing FFXI. The pros and cons ran thusly:

CON
$26 per month = at least one tank of gas
Trying to level up to Rank 3 together means that we either both go online or not at all
When we do go online no one else is available to party
Any friends we do make during a party play a lot more often and level up beyond us
Need at least three good hours at a go to be worthwhile

PRO
Darn good fun
Blue mage has a great hat
$26 isn't that bad if you don't think too hard about it
Kodamakitty would miss Galfridus's seductive taru dance

So for now, we're staying online, but it could become a casualty of not enough time and better things to do with our money (we might even go see a first run movie - with popcorn!). We went online last night to get a feel for the lay of the land and remembered just how much fun the game can be (though we have yet to kill that stupid dragon). It seems like there's still a decent number of folks out there, though not as many as you might think given that FFXI is now on the XBox 360.

Gotta go, hopefully we'll get that dragon tonight!
